PSD promotes gender-responsive and inclusive economic development by expanding access to skills, decent work, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods for women and young people. We equip youth with practical, market-driven vocational and entrepreneurship skills through accessible local pathways, including apprenticeships, training with local artisans, community training centres and accredited vocational institutions.

We also strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by improving business management skills, financial literacy, access to finance and mentorship. Through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), digitisation of existing savings groups, exposure visits and linkages with formal financial institutions, we help young people and entrepreneurs build stronger, more resilient and sustainable businesses.

By addressing both skills gaps and weaknesses within local enterprise ecosystems, PSD supports young people and women to transition into dignified and sustainable work, grow their enterprises and contribute to more inclusive and equitable local economies.
