Paradigm for Social Justice & Development ("PSD", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through paradigmforjustice.org (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you give us directly. When you contact us, request access to a strategy document or annual report, apply for a role, or otherwise fill in a form on the Site, we collect what you provide — typically your name or organisation, email address, phone number (where asked), and the content of your message or request.
- Document access requests. When you request to view a strategic plan or open an annual report, we record your name, email address, the purpose you give, the document requested, the date, and your IP address, so we know who has accessed PSD's strategy and reporting documents.
- Technical and usage information. Like most websites, our server automatically logs some technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. Cookies (see Section 5) may also collect limited technical information.
We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers, national ID or passport numbers, or other sensitive identification numbers through this Site.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to enquiries, requests, and applications submitted through the Site;
- Process and log requests to access strategy documents and annual reports, and notify the relevant PSD staff by email that a request was made;
- Operate, maintain, and secure the Site, including keeping you signed in to an unlocked document for its viewing window;
- Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it; and
- Meet legal, regulatory, and donor-reporting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How we share information
We do not share personal information with third parties except:
- With service providers who help us run the Site or send communications on our behalf (for example, email delivery), under obligations to protect it and use it only for that purpose;
- Where required by law, regulation, court order, or a lawful request from a government or donor authority; and
- Where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PSD, our staff, or the public.
4. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected — for example, document access request records are kept for our accountability and reporting purposes, and enquiry or application details are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where relevant, for our records afterwards. We will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use:
- Essential cookies. These are required for the Site to function — for example, keeping you signed in while you have unlocked, time-limited access to view a strategic plan. The Site cannot work properly without these, and they do not require your consent under most cookie laws.
- Preference cookies. A cookie that remembers your cookie consent choice, so we don't ask again on every visit.
- Analytics cookies. If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are most visited — so we can improve it. These cookies are never set unless you accept, and are not set at all if you decline or ignore the banner. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy for how Google handles this data.
We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies on this Site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, or withdraw analytics consent by clearing your browser's cookies for this Site and declining the banner on your next visit; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site (such as the document viewer) from working correctly.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
