This project seeks to strengthen the meaningful influence of girls and young women on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) advocacy, policy engagement, and accountability processes in Uganda and across East and Southern Africa. It will support girls and young women to develop evidence-based advocacy priorities, engage national and regional policymakers, and ensure their lived experiences and concerns are considered in policy discussions, decisions, and implementation processes.

At the national level, the project will facilitate strategic engagement with policymakers, technical leaders, parliamentary champions, and established SRHR platforms to strengthen the integration of young women’s priorities into policy implementation and accountability mechanisms. At the regional level, it will promote cross-country coordination, collective advocacy, peer learning, and engagement with regional legislative and policy platforms, including the East African Legislative Assembly, the East African Youth Parliament, and relevant Southern African Development Community processes.

Through structured policy dialogue, strategic partnerships, documentation of commitments, and systematic follow-up, the project aims to strengthen girls’ and young women’s collective influence, promote more inclusive and responsive SRHR policies, and improve accountability for commitments affecting their sexual and reproductive health and rights across East and Southern Africa.
