This project seeks to strengthen women’s meaningful participation and leadership in decision-making, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution in Wakiso District. It addresses social and cultural barriers that limit women’s involvement in peace and security processes while promoting positive attitudes and practices among community members, local leaders, and duty bearers. The project also supports the establishment and strengthening of gender-responsive, women-led Community-Based Early Warning and Response mechanisms at village level, linked to Wakiso District’s Early Warning and Response structures and relevant security actors. Through capacity building for women leaders and duty bearers, community awareness, and policy advocacy, the project aims to improve early identification and reporting of conflict risks, strengthen coordinated responses to emerging threats, and promote women’s leadership in preventing violence and sustaining peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities.
