Gender Peace and Security
PSD is committed to promoting gender-sensitive peace and security by ensuring women’s meaningful participation in conflict prevention, resolution, and peace-building. Building on the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and Uganda’s commitment to UNSCR 1325,
PSD will enhance conflict-sensitive approaches, strengthen capacities of formal and informal justice actors, and support community-led early warning and response systems.
We will empower women leaders and groups through training, networking, and increased representation in decision-making at all levels.
Additionally, PSD will focus on preventing and countering violent extremism by raising awareness, building community resilience, and promoting economic opportunities for women and youth, aiming to foster sustainable peace, social cohesion, and gender equality locally, nationally, and internationally.
