About the Project

PSD with support from COACT and funding from UN Women is implementing a Project on Action to advance women’s leadership for Peace and Security in Uganda. This Project aims at enhancing COACT and UN Women’s efforts to enhance the capacity of local women’s rights organizations and district local governments to implement strategies that address conflict issues that undermine women’s participation in and benefit from peace and security processes.

As a result of this partnership, PSD will cascade information, disseminate information on countering violent extremisms, coordinate youth dialogues on violent extremism, work with key influencers on challenging stereotypes and organize art for peace festivals. Additionally, the PSD will coordinate with the Refugee Law Project to increase opportunities for Second Chance Education (SCE) and reduce youths’ vulnerability to recruitment into violent extremism in the target districts.
