PSD visited Schools in Bussi Island at the beginning of this year and they reported 60% school dropout rates by girls. One school, in 2022 had an enrolment of 300 students, which dropped to 100 students by close of the year.

One of the challenges leading to this drastic drop down in female enrolment is attributed to the lack of SANITARY PADS instigated by the high levels of poverty at the Island.

PSD is therefore advocating and rallying for all partners (Organizations and individuals) to support this campaign and cause of Donating a Pad and Keep a girl in school.
